Product Description
What is Sibutramin 20mg?
Sibutramine is more correctly called Sibutramine Hydrochloride Monohydrate; and is most commonly taken orally as a tablet or pill. According to where you live, Sibutramine is also known as Meridia and Reductil. In simple terms it can be referred to as a diet pill as, in the action of suppressing your appetite, it will help you to lose weight during a diet. Although as a diet pill Sibutramine does have some side-effects - it shouldn’t be confused with the ‘old’ type of amphetamine diet pills and all of their inherent problems. Sibutramine is one of the modern appetite suppressants that is a “centrally-acting serotonin reuptake inhibitor”. As such Sibutramine acts more like one of the new anti-depressants raising your levels of serotonin and norepinephrine in your body but without creating problems to your histaminergic and cholinergic receptors.
No doubt you will be thinking - well really, just what does that mean then? Well whereas the ‘old’ style of amphetamine diet pills worked mainly by controlling hunger signals in the brain through dopaminergic effects - the appetite suppressant Sibutramine restricts gastric secretions in the digestive tract and helps the stomach wall to remain smooth, the net effect of this is that you send fewer signals that you feel hungry to your brain - meaning that you have a reduced desire to eat, or a suppressed appetite. At the same time Sibutramine is also working in your brain to reduce any desires you might have to eat according to changes in your moods, which can change just by the fact that you’ve started on a diet.

How does Sibutramin 20mg work?
Sibutramin 20mg works by increasing the levels of certain chemicals allowed to freely act on the brain, which causes a substantial reduction in both hunger and food cravings amongst patients. Theese effects are thanks to the medications active ingredient Sibutramine, which causes an increase in the production of noradrenaline and serotonin, both of which affect the satiety centre of the brain, known as the hypothalamus. This enhances the feeling of fulfilment from eating, and so makes you feel satisfied after eating less food which reduces a patient’s calorie intake to below that of which the body needs to function, causing the body to use fat stores and reserves which results in weight loss. Sibutramin 20mg has also been shown to prevent the fall in basal metabolic rate (BMR), which often accompanies efforts to lose weight. A reduction in metabolic rate often makes it more difficult to lose weight and is a survival technique employed by the body which results in less calories being used and more being stored so by helping to sustain this rate it is possible to achieve optimum weight loss whilst using this treatment.
What are the most common side effects of Sibutramin 20mg?
Like all medications, Sibutramin 20mg can cause some side effects. These are more likely to occur early on, within the first four weeks, of taken the medication and will usually subside over the course of treatment. The side effects experienced by those taking Sibutramin 20mg are generally mild in severity and rarely cause patients to cease taking their course of the medication. The most common side effects of Sibutramin 20mg are constipation, dry mouth and problems with sleeping. However, it is important to note that the vast majority of patient's will not have any experience with side effects whilst taking this medication.
